Current assignment
I am a research assistant part of the Maritime Spatial Planning group. I work as a geographic information systems (GIS) expert, specially focusing on human activities at the coast and sea area. I work mainly with ArcGIS and Excel, but I also know basic coding and have novice skills in image processing.
Background
In 2013 I received my degree in Sustainable Development from YH Novia University of Applied Sciences. My degree work was titled GIS Modelling of Underwater Noise and Wakes as Caused by Ships. I started working at the Finnish Environment Institute in 2011.
Current research subjects
- Human activities and pressures at the Finnish coast and the Baltic Sea.
- Collection, visualization (map making), integration and other processing of spatial data related to the sea and human activities.
