Flood Centre is a joint service of the Finnish Environment Institute (Syke) and the Finnish Meteorological Institute. They operate closely with the regional Centres for economic development, transport and the environment (ELY Centres) and regional rescue departments among other operators.
Flood Centre provides forecasts and warnings as well as daily updates of the hydrological situation in Finland. Services are available for the local authorities, residents and operators.
In acute flood situations Syke and Finnish Meteorological Institute will inform in the waterinfo.fi service and Finnish Meteorological Institute's service.
