The SEVIRA-project realizes surveys and interviews for Finnish and Russian citizens of the state of local waters and how to improve water quality.
In Finland two large surveys will be carried out in the Virojoki river basin and the Rakkolanjoki river basin area. The first survey is ongoing and it has been sent to nearly 750 randomly chosen residents in the Virojoki river basin district. Answering to the surveys by mail or via internet, local inhabitants can influence planning and co-operation in river basin districts.
On Russian side of the project area surveys have been carried out by mail and internet.
