The project will produce the Finnish Marine portal, a national service bringing together information and data from various Finnish marine data providers.The aim is to enhance the practical utility of marine data as well as the visibility of Finnish maritime know-how. The emphasis will be on clear and practical presentations developed with visual clarity, ease of access, logical search paths, seamless user interfaces, and user friendly downloading processes. It is funded by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund and the participating institutions.
Itameri.fi portal opens on April 2, 2020
The Portal will be produced in Finnish, Swedish and English and it will be opened in the beginning of April 2020. The Portal is developed in close cooperation with the different agencies and user groups: the project started with a mapping of the needs of potential users. The Portal will provide real-time marine data, status reports, maps, info-graphics, materials, including teaching materials, all serving decision-makers, public authorities, businesses, researchers, journalists, teachers and students.
Seaguide.fi is already open
The mapservice Seaguide.fi is provided to seafarers as well as to those who like to spend time at the coast. It contains up-to-date information about weather, wrecks, guest harbors, sea traffic, algal situation and lot of underwater photos. The service is availabe also in English. The service works with Crome, Firefox, Safari and Edge web browsers.
